If you grew up in a Caribbean household, you know beans are never just beans. They're slow-cooked, deeply seasoned, and loaded with flavor that you simply cannot get from a can. This BBQ Baked Beans recipe takes everything I love about traditional cooking, bold spices, a touch of sweetness, and that low-and-slow magic, wraps it all into a dish that belongs on every cookout table, Sunday dinner spread, and weeknight side rotation.
Ingredients
Smoked beef sausage
Onion
Green bell pepper
2 Cans of Bush’s Homestyle Baked Beans
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Paprika
BBQ Rub seasoning
Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
1/2 tsp dijon mustard
1/2 tsp yellow mustard
1/2 honey
1/2 Oil
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
To a pan, Add oil and allow it to heat. Add diced smoked sausage, onion, and green bell peppers and sauté until softened.
Add baked beans, barbecue sauce, and mustard. Stir everything together and season with onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, BBQ rub seasoning, and honey.
Then bake for about 30 minutes or until the beans have darkened in color and thickened to your liking.
Serve warm.
